Who Should Consider Hormone Replacement Therapy

Bioidentical hormone replacement therapy is an excellent option for anyone suffering from a hormone imbalance. Hormone therapy is available for men and women. It is also a solution for transgender patients and is the ideal choice to aid in recovery after receiving a hysterectomy.

Pros and Cons of Hormone Replacement Therapy

There are many benefits to hormone replacement therapy, all of which will vary depending on the patient’s unique reasons for receiving the treatment in the first place. The possible benefits include, but are not limited, to the following:

  • Bone protection
  • A boost in energy
  • Decreased hot flashes and night sweats
  • An improvement in one’s quality of sleep
  • An increase in one’s sex drive

There are also a few possible side effects associated with bioidentical hormone therapy. These side effects include the following:

Is it your dream to achieve a smoother, brighter, more youthful-looking complexion? If so, CO2 laser resurfacing may be the best option for you! Here at G-nouVa, we specialize in CO2 laser skin resurfacing in Miami, offering a tailored approach to suit each patient’s unique needs and personal expectations.

Who Should Consider CO2 Laser Treatment?

Anyone looking to improve their complexion may want to consider CO2 laser treatment as a possible option/solution. CO2 laser skin resurfacing works particularly well when it comes to reducing the appearance of:
  • Acne scars
  • Sun damage
  • The early signs of aging
It is important to remember, however, that the procedure works best when performed on those with lighter skin tones.

CO2 Laser Resurfacing Recovery Time and Process

The resurfacing process involves using a laser to penetrate to the deeper levels of the skin to stimulate the production of younger, smoother looking skin on the surface. CO2 laser resurfacing recovery time will vary from patient to patient. However, most patients will be able to return to work after a period of a few days. The final results should be evident after a few weeks.

Possible CO2 Laser Resurfacing and Complications

The laser resurfacing procedure is extremely safe. However, there are some potential side effects that candidates need to be aware of. For example, if CO2 laser resurfacing is performed on patients with darker skin tones, brown spots and skin bronzing may appear temporarily. Regardless of skin tone or type, there is also a risk of developing a skin infection.

CO2 Laser Skin Resurfacing Reviews

Renuvion is an especially excellent way to address skin laxity. The treatment will also improve the health and appearance of the skin overall. The treatment’s controlled application of J-Plasma, while simultaneously cooling the treated area with cold helium gas, allows to achieve highly precise contouring results.

The tightening and rejuvenation achieved with J-Plasma/Renuvion have been compared to the results of a facelift or body lift. In addition, tightening lax skin, a treatment with J-Plasma will accomplish what these surgeries cannot: it will clear and improve the topical appearance of the skin itself. Renuvion has shown to not only tighten patients’ pores, reduce pigment discolorations like age or sun spots, and reduce the appearance of scars, but also to address vascular lesions. The controlled application of heat will promote collagen production within the skin, resulting in skin renewal and improved skin health for months and years to come.

Renuvion achieves beautiful, long-lasting, youthful-looking results for our patients. Renuvion stands out from other skin tightening treatments because of its:

  • Targeted precision
  • Preservation of surrounding tissue
  • Impressive tightening. Turns back the effects of time to tighten loose, hanging skin. This, in turn, helps to smooth away fine lines and wrinkles. Highly effective to address skin laxity that has occurred due to weight loss.
  • Minimal discomfort during treatment
  • Ability to tighten pores, heal scars, and reduce skin discolorations
  • Ability to improve patient’s hyperpigmentation, such as sun or age spots
  • Positive effect on collagen production, resulting in healthier looking skin.
  • Long-lasting results

Who should consider Renuvion powered by J-Plasma?

Patients who are good candidates for Renuvion are those who have a noticeable degree of skin laxity in one or more places on their body. This can be as a result of age, lifestyle choices, or major weight loss. Patients who are experiencing skin laxity but who do not want to turn to a surgical procedure or deal with scarring can achieve their ideal results with Renuvion.
Whether patients will have a small or larger amount of fat eliminated from their bodies, Renuvion with J-Plasma is a safe way to achieve maximum skin tightening and body contouring.
Renuvion is also a highly effective solution for patients who have wrinkling, scarring, or discoloration that they would like to address on their face or body, in addition to their skin laxity.
Candidates for Renuvion should be in overall good health and free of pre-existing conditions that can interfere with their body’s ability to heal. Patients are also advised to maintain an open but realistic mindset toward the outcomes that are possible with any cosmetic procedure.

Recovering from Renuvion powered by J-Plasma

It is not uncommon for patients to experience bruising, swelling, redness, or a mild tight sensation in their skin following their Renuvion with J-Plasma. Some patients may experience bruising and swelling for long periods, which is normal following a liposuction procedure. Patients who receive Renuvion in their neck may experience a “bumpy” quality of their skin for a 4-6 week period, but this will also resolve.

Depending on the area treated, patients will receive a compression garment to wear for up to several weeks.

Woman's face with guidelines for surgery

Looking good is not a common desire borne from vanity, but rather an evolutionary psychological model.  In current times, we may not be looking for a partner who can slay mammoths, but we do want to achieve success in our lives.  Attractive people have higher odds of being selected for various professional positions: they are less inclined to be deselected or penalized than their unattractive counterparts.  From breast and butt surgery to tummy, nose, and neck procedures, cosmetic surgery can improve other’s perceptions of you and increase your self-confidence.

Whether you have lost much weight but can’t seem to get rid of that excess, drooping skin, or whether you have gone through pregnancy and are hoping to get your old, firm stomach back, abdominoplasty surgery in Miami is an excellent option to consider. Here at G-nouVa, we are experts when it comes to abdominoplasty in Miami. We also specialize in mini-abdominoplasty surgery: a slightly less invasive procedure that promises similarly pleasing results.

Abdominoplasty Surgery

Abdominoplasty surgery, otherwise commonly referred to as a tummy tuck, involves cutting away excess skin and fat in the abdominal region. The result is a flatter, smoother stomach.

Who Should Consider Abdominoplasty Surgery

Abdominoplasty surgery is an option for people who:
  • Have lost much weight and now suffer from excess, hanging skin
  • For women who have gone through pregnancy
  • For people who have noticed a difference in the tightness of their tummies because of age

Abdominoplasty Recovery Time and Process

The procedure itself will take between 1 to 2 hours to complete.

Abdominoplasty recovery time will vary from patient to patient. However, it is recommended that tummy tuck patients do not return to work for at least two weeks.

The final result will start to become evident approximately three months post-operatively. While there will be an abdominoplasty scar present, with proper care, it should fade significantly over time.

Possible Abdominoplasty Risks and Complications

As with all surgeries, there is always a certain amount of risk involved. Potential abdominoplasty risks include:
  • Infection
  • Bleeding
  • Necrosis
  • Pulmonary thromboembolism

"I had a tummy tuck done by Dr. Carlos Verdeza; he is the best honest, professional, and the best doctor in today’s time and age. I went to five evaluation visits with different doctors, and several months of investigating doctors within the Coral Gables and Beach area, believing I will get the best for my money and high. Quality, was I wrong? It only took one visit for Dr. Verdeza to give me his professional opinion & honesty, gave all details concerning the surgery procedures. After the surgery, I was in shock when every day, Dr. & his staff would call me directly to see how I was doing for two weeks consistently. I will recommend Dr. Carlos Verdeza highly.

Breast augmentation surgery can help a woman to feel more feminine and confident. At G-nouVa, we specialize in traditional breast augmentation (using the insertion of implants) as well as in fat transfer breast augmentation. If you are considering undergoing either one of these procedures, read on for everything you need to know before making a final decision.

Breast Augmentation Surgery

With traditional breast augmentation surgery, implants (made from saline or silicone) will be inserted beneath the patient’s already-existing breast tissue either under or below the pectoral muscles. The patient will also have a choice in terms of where the incisions are placed:
  • Around the nipples
  • Beneath the fold of the breasts
  • In the armpits
  • Through the belly button

In terms of fat transfer breast augmentation, fat cells are removed from the patient’s body and then transferred into the breasts for a more natural look and feel.

Any woman who wishes to enhance the size and shape of her breasts may consider breast augmentation surgery as a possible solution.

Breast Augmentation Recovery Time and Process

  • Infection

A neck lift can provide older men and women with a more youthful appearance and a massive confidence boost. At G-nouVa, we specialize in neck lift surgery in Miami, as well as in mini neck lift procedures. Below, we answer some of your most common questions surrounding a neck lift and what to expect from the process:

Neck Lift Surgery

Neck lift procedures are designed to reduce the amount of sagging, loose skin situated in the neck area and under the jawline. The surgeon achieves this by making two small incisions underneath or behind the patient’s ear, repositioning the skin and removing any excess. The result is a tighter, more sculptured look.

Who Should consider Neck Lift Surgery?

Anyone who wishes to reduce sagging skin around the neck area may want to consider neck lift surgery. It is an ideal anti-aging solution for both men and women between the ages of 35 – 70.

Neck Lift Recovery Time and Process

The neck lift recovery will require you to take a couple of weeks off work. Once all the swelling has gone down, and the bruising has disappeared (usually after 1 – 2 months post-op), the result will be more evident. It is important to note, however, that the patient’s age will influence how quickly he/she heals. Every patient recovers at different speeds.

Possible Neck Lift Risks and Complications

As with all surgeries, there is always a certain amount of risk involved. Neck lift surgery risks include:
  • Infection
  • Bleeding
  • Hematoma or seroma
  • Lumpiness
  • Numbness
  • Mottling of the skin
  • Cording

Abdominal etching is a type of liposuction procedure.

Like traditional liposuction, abdominal etching uses a suction technique to remove fat deposits from underneath your skin. What makes abdominal etching unique are the results that it aims to achieve.

Instead of removing fat from your midsection with the simple goal of a slimmer appearance, abdominal etching removes fat deposits in an advanced and strategic way. This type of liposuction molds and shapes your abdominal wall so that your ab muscles look more prominent.

How does abdominal etching work?

Abdominal etching works similarly to traditional liposuction, but there’s one important distinction. The fat deposits that cover your abdominal muscles are carefully carved off your body, using small incisions usually based around your belly button.
When done carefully, this technique can deepen the natural grooves in your body and make your ab muscles appear much more prominent.
Fat deposits may also be taken from the sides overlying your oblique abdominal muscles to narrow your midsection. When the swelling subsides and the area heals, you should see a visibly toned midsection.

Risks and side effects

Abdominal etching is considered a low-risk cosmetic procedure. But that doesn’t mean there isn’t a risk of complications and side effects.

Common side effects after a liposuction procedure like abdominal etching include:
  • nerve and blood vessel damage
  • skin discoloration
  • bumpy skin or irregular healingi
  • swelling
  • fluid accumulation
  • anesthesia bruising or headaches
You may also notice pus or discharge coming from the site of your procedure. If the pus is greenish or yellow-tinged, contact your doctor.
Having a fever in the days after an abdominal etching an also be a sign of an infection. Let your doctor know about these side effects, and seek emergency medical care right away if you suspect you have an infection.

Preparing for abdominal etching

Preparing for abdominal etching is a similar process to getting ready for traditional liposuction. The first part of the process involves a detailed consultation with a licensed and board-certified cosmetic surgeon. You’ll talk about your expectations for the procedure, as well as any unique caveats for your specific body type and health concerns.

For 2 weeks before the procedure, you’ll need to avoid taking aspirin, herbal supplements, and any medication that can thin your blood and increase your bleeding risk. Your doctor should be aware of any prescription medications that you’re taking before your procedure. You may also be advised to stop smoking if you currently smoke.

Before the procedure, you’ll need to arrange a ride to and from the facility where it’s being performed. The pain and swelling are minimal, but you’ll still not be permitted to drive yourself home.

Liposculpture is the operation that is performed to eliminate fat deposits located between skin and muscle. The purpose of the operation is to permanently redesign the contour of the body. It is performed in different areas of the body, most commonly the abdomen, thighs, buttocks, arms and jowls.

Liposculpture is usually performed under general anaesthesia. However, another option is non-surgical or non-invasive liposculpture, which does not require anaesthesia or, in some cases, requires only local anaesthesia.

Preparation for liposculpture

If the patient is in good health, he/she does not need to undergo medical investigations before the liposculpture. If however the patient has a bleeding tendency, they will have to undergo medical investigations before liposculpture, to include heart rate and blood pressure measurements, and possibly blood tests.

The surgeon may recommend that the patient not take any anticoagulant medication for at least 10 days before the intervention. In addition, the specialist determines the most appropriate compression garment for the patient to wear after liposculpture.

Post-operative care

In the post-operative period, the patient will have to rest for about three days, take antibiotic therapy and wear a compression bandage or compression garment. The garment must be worn for 2 to 4 weeks; however at day 4 or 5 the patient can resume his normal activities and at day 10 he can resume exercise in a gradual manner.

Blepharoplasty is a type of surgery that repairs droopy eyelids and may involve removing excess skin, muscle and fat. As you age, your eyelids stretch, and the muscles supporting them weaken. As a result, excess fat may gather above and below your eyelids, causing sagging eyebrows, droopy upper lids and bags under your eyes.

Besides making you look older, severely sagging skin around your eyes can reduce your side vision (peripheral vision), especially the upper and outer parts of your field of vision. Blepharoplasty can reduce or eliminate these vision problems and make your eyes appear younger and more alert.

Who should consider Blepharoplasty

You might consider blepharoplasty if droopy or sagging eyelids keep your eyes from opening completely or pull down your lower eyelids. Removing excess tissue from your upper eyelids can improve your vision. Upper and lower lid blepharoplasty can make your eyes appear younger and more alert.

Blepharoplasty may be an option if you have:
  • Baggy or droopy upper eyelids
  • Excess skin of the upper eyelids that interferes with your peripheral vision
  • Excess skin on the lower eyelids
  • Bags under your eyes

You may undergo blepharoplasty at the same time as another procedure, such as a brow lift, face-lift or skin resurfacing.

Preparation for Blepharoplasty

Prior to eyelid surgery, the patient should have a detailed examination and discussion about blepharoplasty and potential risks and benefits associated with the procedure. The patient should follow the doctor's preoperative instructions carefully and thoroughly review the postoperative instructions before the day of surgery. This will allow the patient to have any medications for pain relief or necessary items such a gel packs, artificial tears, and gauze at home prior to their return from surgery.

A physical may be required to "clear" you for surgery if intravenous sedation or general anesthesia is used.

Recovering from Blepharoplasty

Patients usually have a short recovery time after blepharoplasty. Although bruising and swelling is usually worse on the day after surgery, they quickly begin to disappear. During the first 48 hours, the use of cool compresses can greatly reduce bruising and swelling around the eyes and face. Light activity such as walking will also help speed healing. Thin bandages are usually placed over the incision sites and removed in several days, while the stitches can remain in the skin for about a week. Sometimes self-absorbing stitches are used that do not require removal.

Most people return to normal activities after seven to 10 days following blepharoplasty. By two weeks after eyelid surgery, the majority of the bruising and swelling will resolve.

Risks of Blepahroplasty procedure

As with any surgery, there are potential risks and complications of blepharoplasty. The major risks include;
  • infection,
  • bleeding,
  • scarring,
  • the inability to close the eyes,
  • dry eye,
  • abnormal eyelid position,
  • double vision, and
  • loss of vision.

Otoplasty is sometimes referred to as cosmetic ear surgery. It’s performed on the visible portion of the outer ear, called the auricle.

The auricle comprises folds of cartilage that are covered in skin. It starts to develop before birth and continues developing in the years after you’re born.

If your auricle doesn’t develop properly, you may choose to have otoplasty to correct the size, positioning, or shape of your ears.

There are several different types of otoplasty:

  • Ear augmentation. Some people may have small ears or ears that haven’t completely developed. In these cases, they may want to have otoplasty to increase the size of their outer ear.
  • Ear pinning. This type of otoplasty involves drawing the ears closer to the head. It’s performed on individuals whose ears stick out prominently from the sides of their head.
  • Ear reduction. Macrotia is when your ears are larger than normal. People with macrotia may choose to have otoplasty to reduce the size of their ears.

Who should consider Otoplasty?

Otoplasty is typically used for ears that:
  • protrude from the head
  • are larger or smaller than normal
  • have an abnormal shape due to injury, trauma, or a structural issue from birth

Additionally, some people may have already had otoplasty and aren’t happy with the results. Because of this, they may choose to have another procedure.

Good candidates for otoplasty include those who are:
  • Ages 5 or older. This is the point when the auricle has reached 90 percentTrusted Source of its adult size.
  • In good overall health. Having an underlying condition can increase the risk of complications or affect healing.
  • Nonsmokers. Smoking can decrease blood flow to the area, slowing the healing process.

Recovery from Otoplasty procedure

Following your procedure, you’ll have a dressing placed over your ears. Be sure to keep your dressing clean and dry. Additionally, try to do the following while your recover:
  • Avoid touching or scratching at your ears.
  • Choose a sleeping position where you aren’t resting on your ears.
  • Wear clothing you don’t have to pull over your head, such as button-up shirts.

In some cases, you may also need to have stitches removed. The doctor will let you know if this is necessary. Some types of stitches dissolve on their own.

Common side effects during the recovery period include:
  • ears that feel sore, tender, or itchy
  • redness
  • swelling
  • bruising
  • numbness or tingling

Your dressing will stay in place for about a week. After it’s removed, you’ll need to wear an elastic headband for another 4 to 6 weeksTrusted Source. You can wear this headband at night. Your doctor will let you know when you can return to various activities.

Risks of Otoplasty procedure

Like other surgical procedures, otoplasty has some associated risks. These can include:
  • a bad reaction to the anesthesia
  • bleeding
  • infection
  • ears that aren’t symmetrical or have unnatural-looking contours
  • scarring at or around the incision sites
  • changes in skin sensation, which are typically temporary
  • suture extrusion, where the stitches securing the shape of your ears come to the surface of the skin and have to be removed and reapplied

Mini facelifts are less invasive than the full on surgical facelift, and leaves minimal scarring.
They have the same desired outcome of a tightened, more youthful looking face and is done under local anaesthetic.
However, in a mini facelift bio-compatible wires are threaded under the skin and tightened to lift the face and Botox is used on certain areas of the face.
Also, dermal fillers and hylaronic acid are injected to fill out the skin and give it a plump look, and skin rejuvenation injections are also applied.
A mini facelift's effects will last around two to five years.

Who should consider Minifacelifting

You may be a good candidate for a Mini facelift if you are dissatisfied with the appearance of your lower face, especially with regard to the appearance of jowls, loss of muscle tone in the lower face, laxity of the lower cheeks and neck, and deepened facial creases extending along the nose and near the corners of the mouth.

Preparing for Minifacelifting

In preparing for your face lift or miniface-lift, you may be asked to temporarily avoid certain over-the-counter medications as your surgery date draws near. The surgery takes place under general anesthesia, requiring you to arrange for transportation to and from the surgical facility.

Recovering from Mini Facelift

Following a facelift, you can expect a few days of swelling and soreness which is well controlled with oral pain medications. Most sutures are typically removed between days 5 and 7. Makeup can be used at this point to camouflage any bruising or scars. Swelling and bruising generally subside by 7-10 days. You can resume most normal activities after a couple of days, except for intense exercise, which may be resumed at about 3 weeks. Most people are able to return to work with confidence in 10-14 days. Mini Facelift scars are usually not noticeable after enough time has passed for them to mature (see below). In any case, they are easily disguised in natural skin creases and by one's hairstyle.

A facelift is a cosmetic surgical procedure to create a younger appearance in your face. The procedure can reduce the sagging or folds of skin on the cheeks and jawline and other changes in the shape of your face that occur with age.
A standard or “traditional” facelift will more fully address moderate to advanced aging around the mid-face and neck. While the surgery is more extensive than those for a mini-facelift, and thus more recovery time is required, the results are more dramatic. Through incisions located just behind the hairline, starting near the temples, and around the front of the ear, hidden in the natural folds, a cosmetic surgeon can reposition the deeper tissues beneath the skin and remove excess skin to smooth creases, eliminate jowling and sagging skin under the chin, and restore a naturally youthful contour to the face and neck.
During a face-lift, a flap of skin on each side of the face is pulled back, and tissues below the skin are surgically altered to return the contour of the face to a more youthful shape. Before the flap is sutured closed, excess skin is removed.
A face-lift won't decrease fine creases or wrinkles in your skin or damage from sun exposure. Other cosmetic procedures can address the appearance or quality of the skin itself.

Who should consider Facelifting?

If you feel that your face does not reflect your youthful spirit, you may be a good candidate for a facelift. This surgery will not create a “new” you, but it can take years off your appearance. Signs of aging that are common among the best facelift candidates include:
  • Displaced or fallen facial volume
  • Lines from the corners of the mouth to the chin (marionette lines)
  • Deep creases from the nose to the corners of the mouth (nasolabial folds)
  • Sagging skin in the midface
  • Sagging or lost muscle tone in the lower face

There is no “right” age for this procedure, although the typical patient is in his or her 40s or 50s. An ideal candidate is in good physical health and near his or her ideal weight, a non-smoker, and free of any health conditions that may increase risks, such as high blood pressure.
The ideal candidate will also have realistic expectations and is not taking medication that may increase risks.

Preparing for Facelifting

On the day of surgery, wear loose, comfortable clothing with a button-down shirt. Plan to have someone with you who can drive you home and stay with you for the first two days. Stopping smoking for two weeks before surgery will promote better healing, proper recovery and the best results in a facelift Scottsdale has to offer.

Recovering from Facelifting

You will have several follow-up appointments scheduled during the next two months after surgery. They will include the following:
  • The day after surgery, the surgeon will likely remove your drainage tube, apply antibiotic ointment to your incisions and place new bandages on your face.
  • Two to three days after your face-lift, you may be able to switch from wearing bandages to wearing an elasticized facial sling.
  • About a week after surgery, the doctor will remove your stitches and assess the wound.
  • Subsequent visits will likely be scheduled to monitor your progress.

Self-care

Self-care at home during the first three weeks will help your recovery and minimize the risk of complications:
  • Follow wound care instructions as directed by the surgeon.
  • Do not pick at crusting scabs that develop on your wound.
  • Follow instructions on when you can begin using shampoo and soaps and what kinds you can use.
  • Wear clothes that fasten in the front (rather than clothes that are pulled over the head).
  • Avoid excessive pressure or motion on and around the incisions.
  • Avoid using makeup.
  • Avoid vigorous or aerobic activity or sports.
  • Avoid direct sun exposure to the incision for three weeks and use a sunscreen of SPF 30 or higher thereafter.
  • Avoid coloring, bleaching or perming hair for at least six weeks.

In the weeks after a face-lift, you might style your hair to hide any remaining signs of the incision. You may also choose to delay attending major social events for a couple of months, when you are likely to feel back to normal.

Feminine legs and arms with smooth skin

Women’s bodies are complex – and can go through hell.

  • Have you noticed less elasticity of your vaginal structures with age, weight loss, having children?
  • Are you experiencing embarrassing incontinence post-childbirth?
  • Is sex, cycling or horse-riding causing pain?
  • Do you long for a more refined contour to your labia and vulva?

If you answered “yes” to any of the above, intimate wellness surgeries such as vaginal rejuvenation, labiaplasty, and perineoplasty are just what you are looking for.

At G-nouVa, we specialize in labiaplasty surgery and offer you a tailored approach to suit your personal needs and expectations. Labiaplasty Surgery

During the labiaplasty surgery, the surgeon will focus on reducing and reshaping the lips of the vagina, known as the labia minora.

Who Should Consider Labiaplasty Plastic Surgery?

If a woman’s labia minora are large, they can result in discomfort during sexual intercourse, as well as when she is performing other everyday activities such as jogging or only wearing tight-fitting clothing. The size of her labia minora may also lead her to feel less confident and self-conscious during sex. Therefore, any woman who wants to reduce the size of her labia minora, for practical or aesthetic reasons, may wish to consider undergoing labiaplasty surgery.

Labiaplasty Recovery Time and Process

A straightforward labiaplasty can take anywhere between 1 and 2 hours to complete. In terms of recovery time, the patient will usually feel well enough to be up and about the same day of the surgery. While rigorous activity should be avoided within the first few weeks, the patient may return to work approximately two days after the procedure, or whenever she feels comfortable enough to do so. Stitches should dissolve after a period of 6 weeks.

Possible Labiaplasty Risks and Complications

Labiaplasty risks are minimal, and the surgery is quite safe. However, as with all plastic surgeries, there is always a chance that a patient may experience complications. These complications include:
  • Infection
  • Bleeding
  • Scarring
  • Nerve injury

Labiaplasty Cost

Pricing for labiaplasty varies depending on the patient. A general price range for labiaplasty costs between $2800 to $4000. Contact us today for a free consultation.

Gynecology is a branch of medicine. Being its own specialty to study, care for and treat the health of the female reproductive system. In addition, she also takes care of the health of the breasts and makes the main diagnoses of diseases that affect women. In other words, it is a specialty that is attentive to the health of women as a whole.

Who should consider a gynecology appointment?

This consultation should be considered whenever there is any change in Organs reproductive organs and also in relation to the woman's sexual health. Here are some examples:
  • vaginal pain or discharge
  • very heavy or absent menstruation
  • severe menstrual cramps
  • pain during intercourse
  • hormonal changes caused by the arrival of adolescence
  • pain and discharge from the breasts
  • change in color, smell and texture of vaginal secretions
  • fertility and infertility
  • pregnancy
  • preventive exams

Gynecological surgery refers to surgery performed on women's genitals. It is usually performed for reconstructive reasons. It can also be performed for sexual or aesthetic reasons. Surgery consists of a type of medical treatment that requires intervention, manual or instrumental, from the doctor to the patient. When this surgery involves organs of the female reproductive system, such as the uterus and ovaries, we say that it is a gynecological surgery.

The subject generates many doubts and insecurities, so, here we talk about some of the most common gynecological surgeries:

  • Total hysterectomy: surgery that completely removes the body and cervix. It is used to treat large and multiple fibroids, bleeding for no apparent reason and some types of cancer.
  • Radical hysterectomy or Wertheim-Meigs surgery: procedure performed for the treatment of advanced cervical cancer. It consists of the total removal of the cervix and body of the uterus and ovaries, in addition to the upper part of the vagina, the parametries (ligaments next to the uterus) and the pelvis ganglia (lymph nodes).
  • Trachelectomy or Conization: the removal of part of the cervix. Usually used to diagnose and treat cervical lesions, malignant or not.
  • Oophorectomy: removal of the ovaries.
  • Salpingectomy: removal of the tubes.
  • Anexectomy: this procedure includes oophorectomy and salpingectomy, that is, the removal of the ovaries and tubes.
  • Pelvic lymphadenectomy: removal of fatty tissue and ganglia (lymph nodes) that are found together with the vessels and nerves of the pelvis.
Each procedure has its particularities and only the doctor who accompanies the case can define surgical intervention as part of the treatment. Schedule an appointment before scheduling the surgery and clarify your doubts to minimize anxiety and understand what will happen to your body.

Urinary incontinence is the involuntary loss of urine through the urethra. The disorder is more frequent in females and can manifest itself both in the fifth or sixth decade of life and in younger women.

What are the types of urinary incontinence?

  • Stress incontinence. Cause: weakening of the pelvic floor muscles.
  • Urgent urinary incontinence. Cause: the bladder contracts when it shouldn't.
  • Mixed incontinence.

What are the symptoms of urinary incontinence?

  • Inability to urinate. related, for example, to urine retention.
  • Pain related to the fact that the bladder is full.
  • Progressive weakening of the urinary stream.
  • Increased frequency of urination,
  • Need to get to the bathroom quickly.
  • Leakage of urine.
  • Frequent infections of the bladder.

What are the causes of urinary incontinence?

  • Urinary or vaginal infections.
  • Side effects of medications.
  • Intestinal constipation.
  • Weakness of some muscles.
  • Obstruction of the urethra by enlarged prostate.
  • Diseases that affect nerves or muscles.
  • Some types of gynecological surgery and others.

Pelvic floor dysfunction consists of a wide range of problems that arise when the pelvic floor musculature does not function properly.

The muscles in this region must support the various organs located in the pelvic cavity, such as the bladder, prostate, rectum and female reproductive organs. In addition, they are also related to the functioning of the urinary and anal sphincters. Thus, changes in the pelvic musculature can result in urinary and intestinal dysfunctions.

The dysfunction of the pelvic floor originates from an injury to the nerves of the pelvis muscles, which can be caused by certain factors such as: obesity, surgery, pregnancy, childbirth and menopause. Some individuals are apparently more likely to develop this dysfunction due to hereditary factors or their type of collagen.

The clinical manifestations that can appear when there is dysfunction of the pelvic floor involve:

  • Constipation;
  • Sensation of incomplete emptying of the rectum, which can cause fecal incontinence, due to the repetitive effort to eliminate feces still present in the rectum;
  • Prolapse of Organs pelvic organs;
  • Urinary incontinence;
  • Sexual dysfunction;
  • Chronic pains (such as vulvodynia)
  • .
The diagnosis of this condition is complicated, since there is no specific exam to diagnose this condition. However, this should be done based on a thorough analysis of the patient's history and clinical presentation, along with a physical examination.

Treatment can be done in different ways:

  • Biofeedback: it is the most common therapy in the treatment of pelvic floor dysfunction. This is performed with the help of a physiotherapist, it is not painful, and it is effective in approximately 75% of cases.
  • Medication: muscle relaxants may be prescribed.
  • Relaxation techniques: involves hot baths, yoga and exercises.
  • Surgery: When the doctor determines that the pelvic floor dysfunction results from a rectocele or rectal prolapse, surgery may be necessary.

Advanced technology with maximum versatility for dermatology & aesthetic procedures

The carbon dioxide (CO2) laser has been known to provide some of the most dramatic, age-defying results in the treatment of challenging skin imperfections including wrinkles, fine lines, photodamage, uneven skin tone and skin laxity, as well as in scar treatment, skin tags and benign tumors.

Using the power of the CO2 laser, the optimal mix of ablative and thermal effects and an array of applicators and treatment modes for highly tailored procedures, Alma’s Pixel CO2 brings unparalleled precision and innovation to the field of dermatology and plastic surgery.

Alma Pixel CO2 is a highly flexible system for char-free tissue ablation, vaporization, excision, incision and coagulation of soft tissue. It allows physicians full control of treatment parameters, including level and depth of ablation and thermal control via pulse duration and mode of energy delivery. This versatility maximizes precision and treatment results while minimizing unnecessary tissue damage.

Benefits of Pixel CO2 laser by Alma:

  • Multiple dermatological and cosmetic surgery indications
  • Versatile applicators for targeted procedures
  • Adjustable treatment patterns
  • Exclusive non-ablative mode
  • Unique Pixel technology
  • Safe for delicate areas
  • Precise&Fast treatment
  • Versatile for high ROI

Treatments

Pixel CO2 provides a complete, minimally-invasive solution for:
  • Skin Tightening
  • Skin resurfacing
  • Scar Remodeling
  • Skin Rejuvenation
  • Skin Tags & Benign Skin Lesion
  • Skin Imperfections

Technology

The CO2 laser uses a 10,600nm wavelength, which is ideal for collagen matrix renewal and an optimal choice for treating an extensive range of dermatological issues. The CO2 laser has the ability to perform efficient, highly precise fractional and non-fractional laser treatments using the widest assortment of advanced applicators.

The Fractional Laser Method

Unlike traditional ablative laser resurfacing which removes the entire top layer of the skin, Alma Pixel CO2 deploys a fractional delivery method which creates pixel-sized perforations in the skin, leaving the surrounding tissue intact. The preservation of undamaged skin between the perforations allows for faster healing while the wound healing process promotes accelerated re-epithelization, generation of new collagen, tissue regeneration and contracture of existing fibers.

Fractional treatment controls and significantly reduces the risk of adverse side effects such as delayed hypopigmentation, scarring, post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation, infection and persistent erythema. Patients also benefit from much shorter downtime and increased patient comfort compared to traditional resurfacing.

The fractional method is ideal for skin resurfacing and rejuvenation treatments, including scar treatment, improving skin tone, elasticity and texture and reducing superficial pigmentation

Lymphatic Massage

The dreaded “orange peel” affects as much as 90% of women – of all shapes and sizes. Even women who watch what they eat and exercise regularly can have cellulite. Occurring most often on the inner, upper, and back of the thighs, the buttocks, and hips, as well as on the arms and stomach, cellulite is a result of underlying fat deposits pushing through layers of connective tissue made up of collagen fibers.

Hormones and age can weaken connective tissue. While cellulite is not the exclusive domain of women, their decreasing production of estrogen can lead to:

  • Poorer circulation
  • A decline in the production of new collagen
  • A collapse of older connective tissue

The looser skin tends to slide over the underlying muscles, resulting in a dimpled appearance of the surface of the skin.

Excess fat is not a cause of cellulite. However, higher amounts of fat under your skin are more likely to put a strain on your connective tissue and ultimately push through the weak spots. Cellulite is, therefore, more noticeable in overweight people.

Regular exercise cannot cure it, but building muscle and boosting your circulation can help prevent or reduce the appearance of cellulite.

Blame it on your mother! Cellulite runs in families, but remember that maintaining a healthy weight, diet, and exercise all play a part in how visible the cellulite is.

Cellulite Treatment Plan Items

As each person has unique factors contributing to their cellulite, our Miami cellulite treatment is uniquely customized for the best results. The best cellulite treatment will consist of a combination of the items below:

Diet Consultation

The best way to both prevent and cure cellulite is to start eating an antioxidant-rich diet to keep the connective tissue healthy.

Massage Therapy

Cellulite massage aims to manipulate the skin so that the fat cells beneath it are spread more evenly. By regularly breaking down the fat and dispersing it, your skin will look tighter and smoother.

Radiofrequency Ablation

Radiofrequency devices stimulate collagen production with massage and suction while adding heat to the mix to shrink fat cells, which are then processed by your liver. Four to eight treatments are required, with bi-annual maintenance after that.

Ultrasound Therapy for Cellulite

Physical therapy ultrasound uses mechanical vibrations to contract and expand the tissue by micro-massage alternately. When the mechanical energy is converted into thermal energy vibrations, tissue blood flow increases for better circulation and healing.

Carboxytherapy

Quick and virtually painless, carboxytherapy involves an injection of C02 gas below the skin, which improves circulation by forcing red blood cells to release oxygen and collect C02 for elimination by the body. This process leads to enhanced healing through the building and repairing collagen and elastin and ultimately smoothing out cellulite.

Lymphatic Drainage Therapy

Lymphatic stimulation causes the draining of excess water and toxins from the body. To combat cellulite, cellulite-specific lymphatic massages manually break down scar tissue and fat cells. It also stimulates lymph and blood vessels, and the firming of the skin.
